GREEN BAY – A little cold couldn't stop the red-hot Northern Kentucky softball team as the Norse exploded for eight runs to sweep Horizon League foe Green Bay with an 8-5 victory on Friday afternoon.
NKU has now won three straight games and climbed all the way to second in the Horizon with a mark of 4-2 in conference play.

Tatum Biddle led the Norse charge on offense with a near-perfect 4-for-5 day with two RBI, a run scored and a stolen base.

Maddie Lacer (1-for-3, one run) and
Jena Rhoads also picked up a RBI on the afternoon, respectively.

Ella LeMonier (1-for-4, two runs scored, one walk),
Olivia Pastin (1-for-3, one run) and
Trinity Robertson (two bases on balls, one run) all came around to score for the Norse.

Mack Brow made it six Norse with base knocks as she added a 1-for-2 performance that included a base on balls.

Brooklyn Ballis recorded her second win of the weekend as she went 4.2 innings of relief with eight punch outs. She allowed just three hits and two runs (one earned).

Lauryn Hicks picked up the save as she came into the game with the bases loaded and struck out the only batter she faced to seal the NKU victory. It was her second save so far on the young season, a mark that ranks second in the conference.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Norse pushed two runs across in the top of the first as LeMonier scored on a wild pitch and Biddle laced a RBI-double to make it a 2-0 game.
- Green Bay answered back with three runs in the bottom of the second and another in the third to jump ahead 4-2.
- NKU started to climb back in it with a bases loaded walk by Rhoads in the top of the fifth to cut the Green Bay lead to 4-3.
- The Norse exploded for three runs in the top of the sixth to retake the advantage at 6-4.
- NKU got another two runs in the top of the seventh to extend its edge to 8-4.
- Green Bay tried to respond back in the top of the seventh, as the Phoenix pushed a run across and loaded the bases, but Hicks stepped in to record the final out to seal the Norse victory.

The Norse head to Eastern Kentucky for a clash with the Colonels, set for Wednesday March 27 at 4 PM ET in Richmond, Kentucky. First pitch is set for 4 PM ET from Gertrude Hood Field. The in-state showdown will be played in front of a national audience on ESPN+.
