DAYTON, Ohio – The Northern Kentucky softball program put a scare into the Atlantic-10's Dayton, but in the end the Norse were on the wrong side of a 5-4 walk off in a thrilling non-conference battle on Tuesday afternoon.

Brielle DiMemmo led the way on offense as she came off the bench and put up a huge 1-for-2 afternoon that included a home run, three RBI and a run scored.

Tatum Biddle also chipped in on the scoreboard with a 1-for-2 day to go with a RBI, a run and a walk.

Olivia Pastin added a 2-for-3 outing with a run scored.

Ella LeMonier had another strong game with a 2-for-4 effort. She also made the play of the day with an incredible diving stop in the bottom of the fifth.

Mack Brow contributed the other NKU hit on the afternoon off a 1-for-2 performance at the plate along with a base on balls.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The two sides opened the game with three scoreless innings.
- The Norse broke the contest open in the top of the fourth with a four-run frame. Biddle got the scoring started with a RBI double, which was followed by a three-run blast by DiMemmo to give NKU the 4-0 lead.
- Dayton started to chip away and tied the game with one run in the bottom of the fourth, two in the fifth and another in the sixth to knot things at 4-4.
- The Flyers walked it off with a solo home run in the bottom of the seventh to escape with the 5-4 win.
NEXT UP
The Norse return to Horizon League play with a road weekend series at Youngstown State that gets underway on Friday, April 19. First pitch is set for 3 PM ET and the game will be
played in front of a national audience on ESPN+.
