HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky men's soccer team put together an impressive showing on Thursday night, battling regional rival Xavier to the wire in a scoreless draw at Corcoran Field.

The 0-0 final marked the second straight season the Norse have opened the season with a tie.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

• Northern Kentucky and Xavier combined for just three shots on goal in the contest, with Yonatan Cohen providing the lone shot on target for the Norse.
• Nic Lemen posted a clean sheet with a pair of saves in the match, including a massive save on a shot from Xavier's Guilherme Vivaldini in the 60^th minute.
• Lemen was assisted by stellar defense from the Norse, with five defenders (Caleb Mundell, Steven Boaghe Braniste, Douglas Fajardo, Wade Stinson, and Joshua Cline) playing all 90 minutes.
• Both Itay Soffer and Tyler Murphy registered shots in the match.
