NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Northern Kentucky men's soccer registered 10 shots on goal at Belmont on Thursday night, but the Norse were unable to overcome a 2-0 first half deficit in a non-conference loss to the Bruins.
NKU attempted to rally in the second half and generated a few great chances, but could not find the back of the net in the loss.

Nico Stoddart netted a goal to put the Norse back in the match late in the first half, his first goal of the season and third in an NKU kit.
- Stoddart was assisted by both
Douglas Fajardo and
Steven Boaghe Braniste, which marked the first assist in each of their NKU careers.

Nic Lemen made a pair of spectacular saves in the second half to keep the score 2-1.
- Five Norse played all 90 minutes of the match.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Belmont took a 2-0 lead after scoring goals in the 15th and 30th minutes.

Nico Stoddart's goal came in the 40th minute of the contest.
- NKU registered three shots on goal in the second half, but were unable to find the back of the net as the Bruins held on to win.
