Lilly Yordy secures #HLWSOC Player of the Week honor

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Following a 3-2 win over Youngstown State on Saturday, Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer graduate student Lilly Yordy was named Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.

"Lilly is a skillful attacking player and we congratulate her on being recognized for her strong play this week," said head coach Bob Sheehan

Yordy scored the game-winning goal and recorded an assist in NKU's pivotal win on Saturday, which clinched a top-two seed in the Horizon League Championship and has Northern Kentucky within reach of a regular-season conference title.

On Saturday, Yordy also reached a major career milestone, her 50th career point with the Norse, achieved on her assist of Erykah Cornett's goal that gave NKU a 2-1 lead.

It marks the second weekly award for Yordy this season, who also won Horizon League Offensive Player of the Week on September 2. Megan Molner and Megan Gessner are the only other two Norse to win Horizon League weekly awards.

NKU wraps up regular season play on Wednesday against Wright State, with kickoff set for 6 PM in Dayton.
