Maggie Foust tabbed #HLXC Freshman of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's cross country freshman Maggie Foust picked up another individual award following her second career race, as she was named the Horizon League's freshman runner of the week on Tuesday.

"In a race with 300+ people in it, even seasoned veterans can get the yips, Maggie went out with great control and held her spot with a nice kick at the end," said Norse head coach Steve Kruse. "Maggie continues to train at a high level and I'm confident that she's going to continue to improve. We are all very proud of her!"

At this Saturday's Louisville Cross Country Invite, Foust led all Norse women with a time of 18:07.3 in the 5-kilometer race. It marked a new collegiate best in the 5k for Foust, who ran an 18:16.0 in her debut.

Foust also earned Horizon League Freshman of the Week honors on September 9, following her first run at the Baumer Classic.
