JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. — Baseball season began for the Norse on Friday, as NKU kicked off 2025 with a doubleheader against the Buccaneers of East Tennessee State.
The Norse struggled offensively, and dropped both legs of the twin bill.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - GAME ONE
- Kaden Echeman started game one for the Norse and took the loss. Echelon threw four innings, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk. The senior right hander struck out six.
- Logan Wilson pitched 1.2 innings of scoreless baseball.
- It was a rough game offensively for the Norse, who managed just a pair of hits. Josh Williams homered to provide the lone run in his NKU debut.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - GAME TWO
- Conner Linn started the second game for NKU, pitching 3.1 innings and taking the loss. He gave up five runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out three.
- Evan Fry threw two-thirds of an inning in relief without allowing a run.
- NKU plated a pair of runs in the loss and were led by Jake Paulick, who finished 2-4 with a solo shot. Logan Devenport also finished 2-4 with a run scored.
- NKU left nine runners on base in the loss.
