HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. -- Northern Kentucky men's basketball picked up another win on Wednesday night, as the Norse played host to and then defeated first place Cleveland State at Truist Arena.
The Vikings had won 13 games in a row (the second longest winning streak in the country) coming into Wednesday's game, but the Norse put together a second outstanding performance in a row to snap that streak.
It was yet another game where junior guard
Dan Gherezgher Jr. completely took over for NKU. Gherezgher led all scorers with a career-best 26 points.

- Sam Vinson had an all-around great game, scoring 13 points, grabbing seven rebounds with seven assists and four steals. Vinson shot 1-2 from 3PT range, 3-6 from the field and 6-8 from the free throw line.
- Josh Dilling knocked down three triples on his way to a 14 point night.
- LJ Wells scored 13 points off the bench for NKU with seven boards.
- Trey Robinson finished with a near double-double, scoring 12 points and grabbing eight rebounds.
- NKU shot 51% from the field on the game thanks to an 18-31 (58%) second half.
- The Norse won the rebounding battle 34-29, grabbing 12 offensive rebounds and scoring 21 second chance points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- NKU and CSU battled throughout a physical first half, and the score sat at 36 all at halftime. Dan Gherezgher Jr.'s 15 first half points led NKU.
- In the second half, NKU opened on a 6-0 run to jump out to a 42-36 lead, and held CSU at arm's length throughout the final 20. NKU led by as many as 14 in the second half, where the Norse scored 49 points.
