CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball continued its play in the Governors Classic taking on #22 Florida Atlantic and Morehead State.
NKU dropped game one to the Owls 10-1 in five innings, before taking down Morehead State for the third time this season, 10-5.

Jena Rhoads had two of NKU's four hits on the day, going 2-3 with a pair of singles, also scoring the first run of the game.

NORSE NOTES
- NKU took an early lead, as
Jena Rhoads crossed home plate after singling, stealing second, and advancing to third on an error. She advanced home after
Campbell Beatty, who walked in the frame, stole second.
- The Owls took the lead in the bottom of the first, ending the frame with a one-run advantage. A six-run third helped lift them to a victory in five innings..

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE

Brooklyn Ballis got the start in the circle for NKU, earning her fourth complete-game win of the season. Ballis struck out seven in the victory.
- Four different Norse recorded two hits as the Norse went 11-30 from the plate with eight walks.
Brielle DiMemmo,
Marley Gearld,
Brooke Keltner, and
Olivia Pastin all had two hits in the win. Gearld hit a triple, while Keltner and DiMemmo both had doubles. Keltner also stole a base.

Stella Wulker,
Trinity Robertson, and
Campbell Beatty all recorded one hit in the game. Wulker recorded a team-high three RBI.
NORSE NOTES
- Morehead State took a 5-0 lead after two innings.
- After a pair of scoreless frames from the NKU offense, the Norse got things going in the third, loading the bases for
Olivia Pastin, who hit a sacrifice fly to to start to cut into the Eagle lead. Following a
Trinity Robertson walk, Wulker belted a bases-clearing double that brought the Norse within just one.
- In the third, the Norse tied it up thanks to an RBI triple from
Marley Gearld.
- NKU started the fifth with a pair of singles, then
Brielle DiMemmo joined in with a two-run double to give the Norse their first lead of the game. Beatty then extended that lead with a bases-loaded single to increase the Norse advantage to four. An extra insurance run courtesy of Keltner's bat helped give the Norse extra cushion. Ballis' five scoreless innings from the third to seventh ensured a Norse victory.
