- Northern Kentucky got on the board within their first two plate appearances, as a single from Campbell Beatty and a double from Rhoads gave the Norse a 1-0 lead. Hits from Robertson and Gearld expanded the Norse lead to three.
- With two on in the second, Olivia Pastin hit her fourth home run of the season out to dead center, doubling the Norse lead.
- In the third, the Norse benefited from a pair of Phoenix errors, scoring three runs on just one hit in the frame. NKU tacked on two more in the fourth thanks to Mack Brow's two-RBI single.
