ROCHESTER, Mich. — Northern Kentucky baseball was able to salvage the series on Sunday, as the bats got hot and pitching locked down the Oakland Golden Grizzlies.
NKU notched 13 runs on 15 hits and eight walks, and closed the series with a big victory to stay above .500 in league play.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - PITCHING
- When NKU needed it most, Aaron Boster took the ball and delivered a quality outing for the Norse. Boster threw five innings and picked up the win, striking out four.
- Shawn Parnell provided big innings out of the bullpen with three perfect frames.
- Evan Fry finished off the Grizzlies, striking out the side in the ninth.
BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN - BATTING
- Josh Williams starred for the Norse, finishing 3-5 with six RBI. Williams belted a grand slam in the win.
- Gabe Miranda provided a spark with a 2-6, three RBI day.
- Tyler Shaneyfelt posted three hits and stole three bases, scoring all three times he reached base.
- Nolan Sparks had a pair of hits in the win.
- Logen Devenport finished 2-5 with a pair of walks, two runs scored, a stolen base, and an RBI.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Jake Altman put the Norse on the board in the second with an RBI single to right.
- Josh Williams put NKU up 3-0 with his two-run double in the third.
- Logen Devenport stretched the lead to 4-0 with an RBI double in the sixth. Gabe Miranda provided a two run single, and Braydon Rogers doubled down the left field line to score another run and put NKU up 7-0.
- NKU put the game out of reach with a five run eighth, as Josh Williams launched a grand slam to punctuate a big day.
UP NEXT
- NKU hosts four home games next week, beginning with Ohio on Tuesday before taking on Milwaukee next weekend.
