MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball entered a matchup at the top of the Horizon League standings this weekend, facing off with the Robert Morris Colonials. Both teams entered Friday's matchup tied for second in the conference standings at 7-2.

Despite battling hard and leading late in both games, the Norse blew a pair of seventh-inning leads as RMU came away with a pair of walk-off victories on their home field. 

THE BASICS (GAME ONE)
FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 5, Robert Morris  – 6
LOCATION: Moon Township, Pa. - North Athletic Complex
RECORDS: NKU 16-17 (7-3 HL), RMU 16-10 (8-2 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- The Norse collected eight hits and five walks.
- Brielle DiMemmo hit her second home run of the season, finishing 1-4 at the plate. 
- Olivia Pastin finished 2-4 with a pair of clutch one-run hits, one being a double. 
- Campbell Beatty had a perfect game one at the plate, going 2-2 with two walks, three runs scored, and a stolen base.
- Brooklyn Ballis pitched six innings, allowing three earned runs, seven hits, and two walks. 

NORSE NOTES
- NKU jumped on the board first as Trinity Robertson brought home Campbell Beatty with a one-run, two-out single. The Colonials responded in the first with a pair of runs, both scored on an error. 
- The Norse offense stayed quiet until the fourth, when Brielle DiMemmo launched a two-run shot to left-center field to tie the ballgame at three. Pastin took the lead for the Norse in the next frame with a clutch one-run single. 
- Brooklyn Ballis pitched back-to-back one-two-three innings in the fourth and fifth, but the Colonials tied the game at four in the sixth with a two-out RBI single. 
- The top of the order led off the seventh, and Beatty and Rhoads both singled to give NKU a good start to the frame. Pastin delivered once again with a double deep to left center that scored Beatty. 
- RMU walked things off in the seventh off a two-run double.

RECORDS: NKU 16-18 (7-4 HL), RMU 17-10 (9-2 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- NKU had eight hits again, with three players notching multi-hit games. 
- Campbell Beatty went 2-4, finishing her day with four hits at the plate. 
- Marley Gearld went 2-3 at the plate with a double and two RBI. 
- Olivia Pastin went 2-4 with a pair of singles.
- Brielle DiMemmo batted 1-1 with a double, walk, RBI, and two runs scored. 
- Alicia Flores threw five innings for the Norse, allowing six hits and three runs with no walks. 
 
NORSE NOTES
- The Norse grabbed a pair of runs in the second, taking another early lead. DiMemmo dove in to steal third as the throw from the Colonial catcher was airmailed into left, giving her an easy path home to give NKU a 1-0 lead. Marley Gearld drove home Wulker from second on a double deep to right field to increase the Norse lead to two. 
- Brielle DiMemmo hit a sacrifice fly in the third, bumping the Norse lead to three. The Colonials were able to equalize by the end of the fourth, as a two-out, two-RBI double tied things at three. 
- DiMemmo then led off the sixth getting hit by a pitch on her right ankle. She made it to third after a pair of groundouts, and Gearld brought her home to give the Norse back the lead. 
- The Colonials loaded the bases in the seventh off a trio of walks. Back-to-back hits sealed the Norse fate for a second time in just a couple of hours.
