HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Softball kept rolling through the conference season on Wednesday, as they finished off a home series with IU Indy with an afternoon doubleheader. 

The Norse emerged victorious in game one, dropping four runs in the third inning and holding on late. In game two, the Norse and Jaguars fought through the rain, but IU Indy notched their first win against NKU. 

THE BASICS (GAME ONE)
FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 5, IU Indy – 3
LOCATION: Frank Ignatius Grein Field - Highland Heights, Ky. 
RECORDS: NKU 18-18 (9-4 HL), IUI 12-23 (6-8 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE 
- NKU tallied just four hits in the game, walking three times. 
- Olivia Pastin continued her monstrous stretch as she finished 2-2 with two doubles, two RBI, two runs scored, and a walk. 
- Brielle DiMemmo finished 1-2 with a double and an RBI, and an HBP. 
- In the circle, Kyndall Ford got the start for the Norse, and she pitched 4.2 innings of one-run ball, striking out a pair. Alicia Flores relieved Ford in the fifth, notching her third save of the season as she struck out four and allowed just one hit. 

NORSE NOTES
- NKU allowed a pair of Jaguar runners to reach in each of the first two innings, but Ford was able to get out of it by coaxing inning-ending ground balls on both occasions. 
- The Norse bats started to heat up in the third, as NKU scored four runs on three hits, including a two-RBI double from Pastin and a one-run double from DiMemmo. 
- Ford was able to get out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth, getting a pair of strikeouts in the frame. 
- IU Indy started to chip into the Norse lead late in the game, getting one run in the fifth and two in the sixth. Flores struck out three batters in the seventh to close things out for NKU.

FINAL SCORE: Northern Kentucky – 4, IU Indy – 12
LOCATION: Frank Ignatius Grein Field - Highland Heights, Ky. 
RECORDS: NKU 18-19 (9-5 HL), IUI 13-23 (7-8 HL)
 
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- NKU collected nine hits, walking three times. 
- Campbell Beatty went 3-4 in the game with three singles, an RBI and a run scored. 
- Marley Gearld hit her first homer of the season as she finished 2-3 with a pair of runs scored. 
- Jena Rhoads went 1-4 with an RBI triple and a walk. 
- Pastin went 1-3 with an RBI and a walk. In April, Pastin is now hitting .625 with a 1.125 slugging percentage in five games. 
 
NORSE NOTES
- The Jaguars took an early lead in the first, getting four runs on three hits in the first inning.
- NKU struck in the second, as Campbell Beatty brought home Gearld from second on an RBI single. 
- IU Indy got one back in the fourth, scoring on a double deep to center field to make it 5-1. 
- Gearld homered in the bottom of the fourth to give the Norse some life, and NKU scored a pair of runs with two gone on a triple from Rhoads and an RBI knock up the middle from Pastin. 
- The Jaguars exploded late to put the game out of reach, scoring seven runs between the final two innings.
