DAYTON, Ohio — Northern Kentucky baseball battled in Sunday's rubber match, but the Norse were unable to secure a series win over arch-rival Wright State in Sunday's rubber match and series finale.
It was a pitcher's duel in Dayton, with both teams combining for just five runs on 14 total hits. No NKU pitcher gave up more than three hits in the loss.

- In a bullpen day for the Norse, Evan Fry got the start for NKU. Fry threw 2.2 innings, allowing just one earned run on three hits and three walks. Fry notched a strikeout in a no decision.
- Shawn Parnell came in for Fry, throwing 2.1 innings of scoreless relief with a pair of strikeouts.
- Gerald Hanson took the loss, allowing a pair of earned runs on two hits. Hanson struck out two.
- Aaron Massie allowed an earned run on one hit, but kept the Norse in it until the end.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Following a single and a stolen base by Nolan Sparks, Josh Williams singled home the lone NKU run. Wright State tied the game in the home half.
- Following five and a half scoreless innings, Wright State hit a homer in the seventh and plated another run in the eighth.
