Norse Cross Country Announces 2025 Schedule

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky University Norse cross country has announced its 2025 meet schedule, featuring a lineup of five regional meets leading into the Horizon League and NCAA Championships.

The Norse open the season Friday, August 29 at the EKU Invitational in Richmond, Kentucky. Hosted by Eastern Kentucky, the race will be held at The University Club at Arlington starting at 8:15 a.m.

Next, NKU heads to Fairborn, Ohio, for the Mike Baumer Cross Country Classic on Friday, September 5. Hosted by Wright State at Fairborn Community Park, the event begins at 6:00 p.m.

After a short break, the Norse travel to Louisville on Saturday, October 4 for the Swags Louisville Cross Country Classic at E.P. "Tom" Sawyer Park, hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. Races begin at 9:00 a.m.

On Friday, October 17, the team will split between two events. One group will compete in the Angel Mounds Invitational at Angel Mounds State Historic Site in Evansville, Indiana, hosted by the University of Evansville and University of Southern Indiana, starting at 9:00 a.m. Others will race at the Jenna Strong Invitational at Wilmington College in Ohio, with a 4:00 p.m. start.

Championship season begins Saturday, November 1 with the Horizon League Championship in Fort Wayne, Indiana, hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne at the Mastodon Cross Country Course, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Last season, the NKU men notched a fifth-place finish in the Championship meet, as Natnael Weldemichael captured second place individually. 

Postseason continues Friday, November 14 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship at Panorama Farms in Earlysville, Virginia, hosted by the University of Virginia. Races begin at 11:00 a.m. The season concludes Saturday, November 23 at the NCAA National Championship in Columbia, Missouri, hosted by the University of Missouri at Gans Creek Cross Country Course, starting at 11:00 a.m.
