NKU Athletics posts remarkable 3.447 term GPA in Fall 2025

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky University Athletics put together another stellar semester in the classroom in the Fall 2025 term, as Norse student-athletes combined for a 3.447 GPA to open the 2025-26 academic year. 

The feat marks the 29th straight semester that Northern Kentucky student-athletes have posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and the 23rd straight semester with a combined GPA above 3.2. Going even further, Norse student-athletes have now achieved a combined GPA of 3.3 or higher in 17 consecutive semesters. 

"Our student-athletes continue to demonstrate discipline and a strong commitment to excellence in the classroom," said Northern Kentucky University Vice President and Director of Athletics Christina Roybal. "We are proud of their dedication and grateful for the support staff and faculty whose guidance helps make this academic success possible."

All 20 of NKU's sport offerings finished with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, with women's tennis' term GPA of 3.831 leading all programs. 

Women's tennis, women's volleyball, women's soccer, women's cross country, softball, women's basketball, men's volleyball, women's track and field, and women's swimming each finished with a GPA above 3.5. NKU's women's programs averaged a remarkable 3.509 GPA. 

Men's volleyball led all Norse men's programs with a 3.600 GPA, followed by men's tennis and baseball, who also finished above a 3.4 GPA. Overall, Northern Kentucky's men's programs put up a term GPA of 3.376.  
At the conclusion of the Fall 2025 semester, 53 student-athletes finished with a 4.0 (14.33%), with 209 above a 3.5 (57.58%), and 297 above a 3.0 (81.82%).
