INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's basketball entered Wednesday night's matchup with IU Indy on a seven-game heater, sitting alone in second place in the Horizon League. Despite leading for over 32 minutes, the game slipped away from the Norse late, as a frigid night from behind the arc eventually doomed the Norse despite numerous great individual performances.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
- NKU shot just 2-20 from three-point range, and hit those two threes within the first four minutes of the game. The Norse ended the game 0-16 from deep in the final 36 minutes. The Norse were rather efficient from two, though, shooting 24-45 inside the arc. The Jaguars had a solid night shooting, going 27-58 from the field while shooting 5-15 from three, including 3-5 in the final period. Both teams were able to get to the line, with the Norse shooting 16-24 from the line while IU Indy went 16-22 from the stripe. However, NKU shot just 7-14 on freebies in the fourth quarter.
- The Norse again won the rebound battle, marking the 13th straight game in which NKU's out-rebounded its opponent. Most of their success came on the offensive boards, as NKU had 14 to the Jaguars' eight.
- Both teams finished even in the turnover battle, with each squad ending with 14 apiece. IU Indy did a better job at capitalizing on those turnovers, with ten steals and 14 points off turnovers to the Norse's five steals and seven points off coughups.

Maddie Moody led the Norse in scoring after a hot start, finishing with 19 points, six rebounds, two assists, and a block. She shot 7-16 from the field and 4-6 from the line, but fouled out late. Those 19 points tied a career-high,

Karina Bystry was silenced in the first half, only playing nine minutes while she picked up a pair of early fouls. She still finished with 18 points thanks to a massive fourth quarter where she dropped 13 points while going 5-5 from the field, but a pair of late turnovers proved costly.

Abby Wolterman scored a career-high 17 points along with 11 rebounds against her former team, while going 7-10 from the field with a block and a steal.

Mya Meredith stuffed the stat sheet with ten points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. Her six assists marked a career-high, while her four steals were a season-high.
