Bray earns #HLVB Player of the Week honors

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Northern Kentucky University Norse Volleyball senior Sydney Bray earned Horizon League Player of the Week honors on Monday, marking the second time in the 2026 campaign the senior has earned the distinction. Bray led the Norse to a pair of wins over NIU on the weekend, as the Norse sit in first place in the league.

"Syd had two really complete matches offensively and defensively," said Norse head coach Liz Hart. "She hit for a really high percentage and passed well for the weekend."

Bray and the Norse earned a four-set victory at Northern Illinois on Friday before sweeping the Huskies on Saturday, as she averaged 4.5 points/set on the weekend. Offensively, she recorded 26 kills (3.71/set) on a .351 hitting percentage, with a pair of service aces. On defense, she had 21 digs (3/set) and seven total blocks. Bray recorded double-digit kills in both matches, including a 12-kill, 18-dig double-double on Friday, and then had 14 kills on a .400 hitting percentage in Saturday's sweep.

Bray and the Norse return home this week, taking on Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday at 6 PM and Saturday at 2 PM.
