Norse suffer road stumble in five-setter at Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio – After going 8-0 over the first half of Horizon League play, Northern Kentucky University Norse women's volleyball kicked off the second half of the conference season on Tuesday night, facing off against Wright State in a battle of the league's unbeaten teams. The two squads battled to five sets, NKU's first five-set match of Horizon League play, but the Norse dropped the contest.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– NKU out-hit the Raiders .286-.274, and bested Wright State in most statistical categories, including blocks 9-7, points 90-85, digs 87-83, and aces 8-5. 
– Ava Hoying led the Norse with 22.5 points, as she totaled 20 kills on a .288 hitting mark with an ace, four digs, and three blocks. 
– Allison Risley totaled 18.5 points and 17 kills on 48 attacks, all season-highs for the junior. Risley also recorded 16 digs for her second double-double of the season with an ace and a block. 
– Sydney Bray recorded 14 kills on a .289 hitting percentage, with three aces and 14 digs with three blocks. 
– Ivey Stocks had 13 kills while hitting .385, with five total blocks, which led the team. 
– Katie Noschang had six kills on ten attempts with no errors, while also recording four total blocks and an ace. 
– Abby Pickard had 61 assists on the night with three kills, 13 digs, two aces, and two blocks. 
– Daisy Cluxton recorded a career-best 30 digs in the match, as she also had seven assists.
