Early goals from Cornett & Molner power Norse past Detroit Mercy

DETROIT, Mich. – With three matches to go in the regular season, Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer battled Detroit Mercy in a road contest on Thursday afternoon. The Norse got on the board early thanks to a long-distance goal from Erykah Cornett, and Megan Molner's 12th goal of the season doubled the NKU lead in the 13th minute. While the Norse controlled play for the majority of the match, Northern Kentucky wouldn't find the back of the net again, and a 67th-minute goal by the Titans put NKU on its heels. Northern Kentucky's defense held strong for the rest of the match though, winning by a score of two to one.
