Hart Agrees to Four-Year Contract Extension Through 2029 Season

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. — Northern Kentucky University Vice President and Director of Athletics Christina Roybal announced that Norse women's volleyball head coach Liz Hart has agreed to a four-year contract extension through the 2029 season.

An NKU alum, Hart has led the Norse since the 2010 season and owns a career record of 278-182 (.604), all at Northern Kentucky. Under her leadership, NKU has consistently been among the top programs in its conference across both the Division I and Division II eras.

"Liz Hart embodies everything we value at NKU, and her sustained success reflects both her leadership and commitment to the university," Roybal said. "As an alumna and long-time leader of our women's volleyball program, she has built a culture defined by competitive excellence, consistency, and genuine care for our student-athletes. This extension recognizes the impact she continues to have on our program and department."

Most recently, Hart guided the Norse to the 2025 Horizon League regular-season championship, as NKU finished the year with a 22-9 overall record.

"I am thankful to President Cady Short-Thompson and Director of Athletics Christina Roybal for their continued support, confidence, and belief in my vision for Northern Kentucky University volleyball," Hart said. "I am also grateful to our current and past staffs for their incredible contributions to our success, as well as to the players who have sacrificed so much to create a truly special program at NKU."

Since taking over the program, Hart has led NKU to two top-four finishes in the GLVC in two seasons and later added two top-three finishes in the Atlantic Sun in three years. After joining the Horizon League, the Norse have continued their rise, earning nine top-four finishes in 11 seasons under Hart's direction.

In postseason play, Hart has led NKU to 10 Horizon League Volleyball Championship semifinal appearances and five Horizon League Volleyball Championship final appearances, including the program's 2019 Horizon League Volleyball Championship title and NCAA Tournament berth. The Norse have also made two NCAA Division II Tournament appearances and one NIVC appearance during Hart's tenure.

Hart will begin her 17th season leading the Norse this August.
