HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's volleyball opened MIVA play on Thursday night, taking on the #12-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes. The Norse opened with a strong first set, but fell just 25-22. The Buckeyes took that momentum into the final two sets, sweeping the Norse on their home court.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– The Norse nearly took the first set, but fell 25-22. The Norse held a 22-21 lead late but OSU rallied with four straight points to end the set. The Buckeyes stayed in control for sets two and three, winning each by a score of 25-18. 
– Ohio State led the Norse in hitting, .341 to .103. NKU recorded more blocks (7-6) and digs (26-25) than the Buckeyes, but OSU led in every other statistical category. 
– Matt Cosgrove led the Norse with a ten-point night, totaling nine kills, two blocks, and four digs. 
– Griffin Wheatley had 7.5 points, going for seven kills and three digs, also recording a pair of assists and a block assist.
– Trace Klausing led NKU with eight digs. 
– Kyle Saurer posted a team-high 11 assists, also posting two blocks and three digs.
