Norse drop regular-season finale to Wright State

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - Northern Kentucky University Norse men's basketball capped off the regular season on Sunday night, taking on rival Wright State. The Norse built up a large lead, leading for 34:58 minutes of play and by as much as 20 points in the first half. The Raiders chipped away in the second half, though, scoring 57 total second-half points and sealing the game with a tip-in with 0.2 seconds remaining.

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN
– Northern Kentucky shot 53.2% from the field and 36.0% from three while shooting 16-20 from the free throw line. Wright State went 55.6% from the field and 50% from three, shooting 13-20 from the stripe despite just two first-half free throw attempts. 
– NKU had just eight turnovers in the game, while forcing eleven from Wright State. The Norse scored 14 points off those turnovers and recorded eight steals.
– The Raiders dominated the glass, outrebounding the Norse 37-27, grabbing 14 offensive boards while the Norse had just 18 defensive rebounds. 
Donovan Oday led NKU with 21 points, shooting 7-12 from the field and 4-7 from deep.
Dan Gherezgher had 21 points in just 23 minutes, going 8-13 from the field and 4-7 from deep. He also had three assists. 
Kael Robinson scored 17 points and had two rebounds, two assists, and two steals. 
LJ Wells had 13 points, five rebounds, two assists, a block, and a steal. 
Tae Dozier led the Norse with four steals while scoring six points and recording three rebounds and three assists. 
– Ethan Elliot had seven points, five rebounds, and three assists.
Donovan Rakotonanahary had six points on 3-3 shooting with four rebounds.
