HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse softball hosted day two of the NKU Invitational on Friday, welcoming Detroit Mercy, Northern Iowa, and Northwestern to Grein Field. The Norse played in game three of the day and seven of the tournament overall, taking on Northern Iowa, and were again run-ruled like the day before.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Both teams scored one run in the first inning. The Panthers then came back with five unanswered runs. NKU got a pair back in the fourth before allowing five in the fifth, as the Panthers earned the run-rule victory.
- NKU used three pitchers in the game, as
Makaree Chapman was credited with the loss after allowing four earned runs, seven hits, and three walks while striking out three batters.
- The Norse offense finished 5-21 from the plate, as
Lexy Morris led the way with a 2-2 game with a pair of RBI. Both of Morris' hits were doubles.
