HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball opened its final Horizon League series of the year on Friday, taking on Wright State. The Norse and Raiders combined for 13 runs through three innings, but the Norse bats turned cold as Wright State scored five unanswered runs from the fourth to the eighth. Northern Kentucky rallied in the ninth though, scoring a pair of runs on a two-run single from
Mark Nowak, before
Landon Springmeyer walked it off with a three-run shot down the left field line.

GAME SUMMARY

Landon Springmeyer. Brazer brought home the Norse DH with a single, giving NKU its first lead of the game. The Raiders took it right back in the fourth, while the Norse bats went cold. WSU added one in the seventh and two in the eighth to make it a four-run game. Entering the ninth with a four-run deficit, the Norse quickly brought the tying run to the plate with two singles and a walk. Nowak brought a pair home with a single that dropped in left, and Springmeyer did the rest with a three-run shot pulled down the line to give the Norse game one.
