Norse baseball falls to Wright State, forcing Sunday rubber match

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse baseball continued its series with Wright State on Saturday, after walking off the Raiders in the series opener on Friday. The Norse couldn't muster a similar comeback in game two, as the Raiders pounced early and shut down the Norse bats late.

GAME SUMMARY
– Wright State never trailed in the contest, taking a 3-0 lead in the first and scoring multiple runs in the third, fourth, and eighth on their way to a run-rule victory. NKU's nine pitchers were unable to hinder the Raider offense, as eight of them allowed at least one earned run. 

BOX SCORE BREAKDOWN 
– Cody Little got the start and took the loss, allowing four earned runs and six hits in 1.2 innings, and moving to 3-2 on the year. Kyle Cortner was the only Norse arm to not allow a run, throwing a pair of scoreless innings. 
– The Norse batted 13-37 in the contest with no walks, and hit four solo home runs. 
– Josh Williams batted 3-5 with a homer and a pair of runs scored. 
– Jake Paulick and Marcus Harrison each batted 2-4. 
– Pierce Bauerle, Braydon Rogers, and Alex Brazer all hit homers in the game.
