Micah Adkins-Estes joins NKU Men’s Soccer staff as assistant coach

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse men's soccer announced the hiring of Micah Adkins-Estes as an assistant coach on Friday.  A Kentucky native, Adkins-Estes joins the Norse with soccer coaching experience at the NCAA Division I, Division III, high school, and youth levels.

"I am very excited to welcome Micah to our staff," said Norse men's soccer head coach Sean Teepen. "He embodies the core values we want our program to represent and, most importantly, is a tremendous person. His experience, energy, and ability to connect with players will make an immediate impact on not only our goalkeepers, but our entire team. We're fortunate to have him as part of the Norse family!"

Before joining Northern Kentucky, Adkins-Estes most recently spent time as a recruiting coordinator at NCSA College Recruiting, a position he held since January 2026. Before that, Adkins-Estes spent the 2025 NCAA soccer campaign as an assistant coach at Missouri State University, where the Bears went 6-6-4 overall and 3-3-2 in American play.

Adkins-Estes also spent time as an assistant coach at a pair of NCAA DIII institutions, Spalding University in 2024 and Wheaton College in 2023. At Spalding, he helped the Golden Eagles earn their first-ever St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Tournament title, advancing to the DIII National Tournament. With Wheaton in 2023, Adkins-Estes served as the goalkeeper coach, helping lead the Thunder to a 11-5-2 record and a second-place finish in the College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW). In 2023, Wheaton keeper Mason Escalante was named CCIW Goalkeeper of the Year.

He earned his degree from KCU in Biblical Studies with an emphasis in sports ministry and a minor in counseling in May 2020.

A native of Science Hill, Kentucky, Adkins-Estes graduated from Pulaski County High School in Somerset, where he was an All-District and All-Region honoree as a senior. He was the captain of the team and led it to the regional semifinals.
