NKU Women’s Soccer moves to 3-0 with win over Ohio

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – Northern Kentucky University Norse women's soccer looked to continue its red-hot start to the 2026 campaign, battling against the Ohio Bobcats on Sunday night. The Norse took a lead late in the first half and held on late for a 3-2 victory, halting many Bobcat chances late in the match.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
– NKU opened the scoring late in the first half after Ayla Conn drew a penalty following a scary collision with the Bobcat keeper. Norse junior Riley Evans buried the penalty in the bottom right corner to give NKU the lead. Just moments late, the Norse scored again, on a counter-attack off a great ball from Emma Gianino up to forward Erykah Cornett, who made her move past the final defender before putting the shot into the Ohio net for a pair of quick goals. 
– OU opened up the second half with a goal in the first minute, swiftly putting the Norse back on the ropes. NKU got a corner in the 49th, which was taken perfectly by Natalie Newman, who lifted in a perfect back-post ball to Megan Molner who tapped the ball in to quickly give the Norse their two-goal lead back. The Bobcats scored again in the 56th minute, keeping NKU's lead at one, but the Norse held on late for the victory. 
– The Norse won the shot battle 18-14, and 9-7 on target. The Norse had five corner kicks to Ohio's four. 
– NKU keeper Donna Bundy made five saves in the match. 

NORSE NOTES
– The victory marked NKU's first triumph over the Bobcats since 2021, and Northern Kentucky''s first-ever win in Highland Heights against OU. The Norse are now 3-4-2 all-time against Ohio. 
– Megan Molner netted her fifth goal of the 2026 campaign in just three matches. Erykah Cornett & Riley Evans each scored their second goal of the season.
