AT NKU: Shannon starts his first year at NKU...a transfer from Southern Maryland...outstanding scorer and rebounder...has tremendous jumping ability and is skilled at going to the basket...will challenge for a starting position this season.

AT SOUTHERN MARYLAND: Played at the College of Southern Maryland last season and led the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference in scoring at 23.0 points per game...also led the Hawks in field-goal percentage (.545) and rebounds per game (6.3) last season.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Potomac High School...led all Washington, D.C., area players in scoring during his senior year at Potomac...averaged 27.1 points and led his team to a share of the Prince George's 3A/2A league title and the Maryland 2A South Region postseason championship...after attending The Patterson School in Lenoir, N.C., Shannon signed with Marshall University but never played for the Thundering Herd. Other schools that recruited Shannon included Arkansas, Georgetown, Maryland, Villanova, Memphis, UTEP, George Washington and Iowa State.

PERSONAL: Born on Nov. 9, 1986...son of Robert and Thelma Shannon.
