AT NKU: Jones begins his second season with the Norse…outstanding scorer and defender…great clutch shooter in late-game situations…a transfer from Nebraska…could challenge for All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors...fine student who was named to the NABC Honors Court for outstanding academic performance...nickname is "Bear". 2011-12: Played in 29 games and started 14 times…averaged 10.7 points per game…shot 69-for-156 (.442) from 3-point range…drained a 3-pointer with 1.1 seconds remaining to give NKU a 77-74 win at West Virginia in an exhibition game at Morgantown, W.Va…buried a 3-pointer with 1.9 seconds remaining to give NKU a 72-70 victory over Missouri-St. Louis in the semifinals of the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament.
AT NEBRASKA: Averaged 4.1 points per game two years ago as the Cornhuskers posted a 19-13 record…played in 28 games and averaged 12.4 minutes per contest in 2010-11…was 27-for-80 (.338) from 3-point range and also averaged 1.4 rebounds per game…three years ago as a freshman, he averaged 6.0 points per game, including a career-high 21 against Brigham Young.
PREP SCHOOL: Originally signed a national letter of intent with Oregon State in the 2007 early signing period…was released from his commitment following a coaching change…attended Hargrave Military Academy (Va.) for one season following high school…played only a partial season because of an injury, but averaged 16 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest during the first 12 games of the 2007-08 season.
HIGH SCHOOL: Attended North Side High School in Fort Wayne, Ind....averaged 28 points, six rebounds, five assists and three steals per contest as a senior…earned a spot on the prestigious Indiana All-Star team…a three-time All-Summit Athletic Conference selection…finished his career as the school's all-time scoring leader with 1,759 points…was named the area player of the year by the Fort Wayne News Sentinel and the Journal Gazette…was a McDonald's All-America nominee as a senior…was ranked by Rivals.com as the No. 31 shooting guard nationally…was a four-star recruit by both Rivals.com and Scout.com…entering his prep school season, Jones was No. 10 nationally on the fifth-year seniors listing by HoopScoopMagazine.com.
