FAQ

What is the Go Norse Fund?
The Go Norse Fund is the fundraising branch of Northern Kentucky University Athletics. An annual gift to the Go Norse Fund (GNF) is an opportunity to directly support NKU and our student-athletes. The value of the collegiate athletics experience is priceless. College sports provide an opportunity for student-athletes to grow, develop leadership skills, give back to their community, and, most importantly, earn a degree.

How does my gift to the Go Norse Fund make an impact?
The funds are used for recruiting new talent, maintaining an exceptional coaching staff, travel opportunities for each sport and supporting the general operating budget of the athletic department. Each donation directly impacts the student-athlete experience.

Can I designate my gift to a specific team or teams?
Yes, you can designate your gift to a specific team(s), however unrestricted gifts are preferred because they allow the greatest flexibility in addressing needs wherever they arise throughout the year. Gifts can also be designated to specific support areas, such as the training room, academic support and the strength and conditioning program.

Can I make my gift in smaller installments?
Yes. Go to give.nku.edu/gonorse and you will have the capability after clicking "Add Donation" to make it a one-time gift, monthly gift or make installments on a pledge.

What are the Go Norse Fund Recognition Levels?
The Recognition Levels were designed to recognize and thank our supporters making leadership level gifts to the Go Norse Fund on an annual basis. Each level has a series of benefits associated with it.

How is my Recognition Level determined?
Your Recognition Level is based on your total giving to the Go Norse Fund in each fiscal year. Each fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30 each year. If you have recurring payments through our online system, electronic funds transfer, payroll deduction or a pledge, your level for the year will be based on your total anticipated gift to be completed before June 30.

Do I have to make a gift to the Go Norse Fund to receive men's or women's basketball tickets?
No, a donation is not required to purchase Norse men's or women's basketball tickets.  The only seats which require a donation for purchase are courtside seats.

Do I have to make a gift to the Go Norse Fund to receive men's or women's basketball parking and/or hospitality passes?
Yes. Priority parking passes and hospitality passes are only available to Go Norse Fund supporters at certain Recognition Levels. Parking passes and other hospitality benefits begin at the Champion Level, a $500 donation to the Go Norse Fund.

If I want parking or hospitality passes, do I have to make a gift before basketball season?
No. We want to make supporting the Go Norse Fund as easy as possible. If it is preferable for you to make your gift at the end of the calendar year, or even in the spring we can accommodate you.

Is there a deadline to change Recognition Levels to get better parking/hospitality access for the current season?
No. You can join the Go Norse Fund, or upgrade levels at any time as long as it falls within the current fiscal year. A pledge gift will also immediately qualify you to receive parking or hospitality passes. However, the longer you wait to join and purchase passes the greater the chance that we may have sold out of passes in the area you were hoping to join. Passes are not prorated as the season progresses.

How do I purchase parking and hospitality passes for the upcoming basketball season?
Parking and hospitality passes are not available for purchase. To be eligible to receive these passes a donation to the Go Norse Fund is required.

Can I decline benefits?
Yes. Donors may request that no goods or benefits be received in exchange for donations, ensuring a gift would be 100% tax-deductible. Declining benefits includes declining season ticket privileges and priority points.

Can I make a gift of stock or other securities?
Yes. Gifts can be made through NKU Foundation. For questions about gifts of securities, or other gifts-in-kind, please contact the NKU Foundation via email at foundation.nku.edu. For instructions related to an electronic stock gift, please click here (DOC).

What is the Victor E. Society?
The Victor E. Society is a multi-year commitment at the highest level of the Go Norse Fund.  Supporters at this level are paired up with student-athletes of their choice each year in attempt to give a glimpse of what the collegiate athlete experience is like.  A number of special events occur throughout the year for VES members only.  It is a four-year commitment at the highest level each year.

I've moved. How do I change my address with Norse Athletics?
