Biography
PRIOR TO NKU: Davis-Ray played 225 minutes in 32 games for Southern Methodist, averaging 1.3 points and 0.7 rebounds per game. He shot 35.6% from the floor and 21.7% from three on 23 attempts. Davis-Ray played a season-high 18 minutes in a loss at Duke, finishing with four points, and recorded a season-high of five points twice. The Mustangs finished 20-14 and 8-10 in ACC play, and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The St. Louis, Mo. native attended high school at JSerra Catholic in San Juan Capistrano, Calif., where he ranked as the 159th overall recruit and ninth in the state of California with a three-star (0.932) 247Sports Composite rating. At JSerra Catholic, he averaged 17.6 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game, helping lead them to a 24-11 record in his senior campaign. He earned CIF-SS Open Division First Team and All-County First Team honors.
