Nathan Ameen

Nathan began as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at NKU in 2022. He works primarily with Men’s Basketball as well as Men’s and Women’s Golf.

He oversees insurance and claims management as well as managing drug testing on campus. He is also working to complete research writing code to assess biomechanics using cameras and wearables for injury prevention and performance management.  

Ameen completed his undergraduate at Campbell University, earning a bachelor’s in athletic training studies. He completed an orthopedic residency providing services as a physician extender while rotating through different specialties.

He received a Master of Management in Clinical Informatics (MMCi) from Duke University, working on projects to improve data pipelines and writing queries to present dashboards to patients.  

Prior to coming to NKU, Ameen was working as a hospital administrator at a non-profit organization starting a sports medicine program for several local private and public high schools in North Carolina.

He has worked with several professional sports organizations including the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), Carolina Hurricanes (NHL), as well as working along the sports performance staff supporting the USA Olympic Taekwondo team.
