Sean Dwyer was the first addition of Northern Kentucky head coach John Brannen’s staff.
During his time at Northern Kentucky, NKU has risen to one of the premier mid-major programs in the country and in the Horizon League, where the Norse have the winningest record over the last two seasons at 30-10. NKU has also won two league titles - 2017 tournament and 2018 regular-season - and have participated in both the NCAA Tournament (2017) and NIT (2018).
Dwyer came to NKU after spending four seasons with Brannen at Alabama, serving as special assistant to the head coach (Anthony Grant). As special assistant, he worked with both opponent and self-scouting. Dwyer performed statistical analysis of opponent and Crimson Tide film. He also served in various administrative roles, including compliance liaison and overseeing the student-manager program. Prior to being named special assistant, Dwyer spent two seasons as video coordinator at Alabama, where he led the technology and video scouting efforts for the program.
During the 2010-11 season, Dwyer worked as the video coordinator for head coach John Pelphrey at Arkansas.
Dwyer brings a wealth of experience from elite programs, having served in varying roles at Michigan State and Florida. He spent four years as a student manager at his alma mater Michigan State, where he was a part of the Spartans’ 2009 run to the national championship game and four-straight NCAA appearances.
Following graduation from Michigan State in 2009 with a bachelor’s degree in finance, Dwyer spent one season working as an assistant video coordinator at the University of Florida under head coach Billy Donovan. At Florida, he analyzed film, recorded games for scouting purposes, maintained the Gators’ video library and instituted the grading performance evaluations that he earlier had developed at Michigan State.
