Northern Kentucky men’s basketball head coach John Brannen announced the hire of Tim Morris as assistant coach for the Norse on April 29, 2016.

“I want to welcome Tim and his wife Morgan to our basketball family here at NKU,” said Brannen. “Tim is a tremendous addition to our staff; he is extremely intelligent, hard working and understands what it means to be a part of a successful organization. I had the honor of working with Tim at Alabama for several years. Tim’s experience as a student-athlete at Stanford and Washington will be a great model for our young men.”

Since arriving at NKU, the Norse have done nothing but experience success. Northern Kentucky has gone 30-10 against Horizon League opponents in the last two years, the highest win percent in the league, won two league titles - 2017 tournament and 2018 regular-season - and have participated in both the NCAA Tournament (2017) and NIT (2018).

Prior to joining the Norse, Morris served as the Director of Player Development under Eric Musselman at Nevada, helping the Wolf Pack to a 24-14 overall record. Nevada posted a 10-8 record in the Mountain West prior to a run in the College Basketball Invitational that concluded with a victory over Morehead State in the finals to win the championship.

Morris also has a pair of stints at Alabama on his resume as a graduate assistant that surround an assistant coaching position at Kennesaw State.

The Atlanta-native graduated from Stanford in 2008, where he played for Mike Montgomery and Trent Johnson while earning a degree in English Literature. He also played one season at Washington following graduation from Stanford.

Morris also earned a masters degree in human performance while on staff at Alabama.

He and his wife Morgan were married in August 2015. The couple are parents to twins, Ryan and Simeon.
