Mallory Odell joined Northern Kentucky Women's Basketball in May of 2023 as an assistant coach to join Coach Camryn Whitaker's staff for the upcoming 2023-24 season.
Odell comes to Highland Heights, Kentucky after spending the past two seasons with Valdosta State University Women's Basketball as a graduate assistant. She was tasked with both coaching and operational responsibilities such as curating practice plans and individual workouts, cut film, assist with scouting reports to handling team operations including but not limited to hotels, meals, transportation, gear and team calendar, along with serving as the program's social media coordinator. She picked up additional responsibilities with Valdosta State within the athletic department, serving as an intern working with nearly all facets of ticketing, budgeting, operations, administrative and sports information.
Mallory's playing career brought her to Valdosta State for a graduate senior season, where she helped guide the Blazers to the NCAA Division II Elite 8 and earned herself the Lady Blazer of the Year Award. Odell previously spent four years at Longwood University as a member of the basketball program, earning herself two Big South All-Academic selections, and was a three-year member of the university Leadership Council.
She completed her bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in management and minors in both economics and supply chain management from Longwood University. Odell then completed her master's degree from Valdosta State University in education through the higher education leadership program.
