Danielle Newman joined the NKU women’s soccer coaching staff in 2007. She works primarily with the goalkeepers and defenders. Newman joined the Norse after five years as the head coach at St. Ursula Academy in Cincinnati. During her tenure, the Bulldogs made three appearances in the Ohio state semifinals, including one state championship appearance. Newman was also an assistant at St. Ursula from 1998-2001.
Newman was a goalkeeper at Wheeling Jesuit University from 1995 to 1997. During that time, she maintained a 1.36 goals allowed average and earned 17 shutouts. Her 149 saves in 1997 are a school record and earned her a spot on the All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference first team.
During her prep years at St. Ursula, Newman played under Sheehan, helping the Bulldogs win a state championship in 1993.
