Biography

PRIOR TO NKU: Zellie Barnes, a midfielder from Alliance, Ohio, comes to the Norse after a great high school career with Alliance High. Her accolades include an All-Greater-Akron first team selection, a two-time selection to the Stark County first team, a two-time selection to the Buckeye Conference first team, and earning conference player of the year honors in 2025. A four-year starter in central midfield with the Aviators, Barnes ended her career with 28 goals and 41 assists. She currently stands as Alliance's all-time assist leader. In the club circuit, Barnes played for Canton United from 2018-22 and has represented Cleveland Ambassadors FC since 2022. Barnes is a three-time Ohio State Cup Champion and a four-time national qualifier.
