Miranda Wucherer makes her return to Highland Heights after a standout four-year career with the Norse volleyball program. Starting with NKU in the spring of 2024, the Norse finished 11-18 (7-11) in the fall of 2024.
"We are excited to have Miranda back in our program as an assistant coach," Hart said. "She had an outstanding playing career in the Norse jersey and continued to do great things at the University of Minnesota. She will be a tremendous asset to our program!"
Â
Wucherer played in 102 matches during her four-year career with the Norse as co-captain of the team. She helped lead NKU to the Horizon League Championship and the NCAA Tournament in 2019, the program's first-ever conference championship and NCAA appearance since NKU transitioned to Division I. She averaged 1.15 kills and 5.77 assists per set and made the All-Horizon League First Team in 2020-21. She was also named to the Horizon League All-Freshman Team in 2018.
Â
During her Spring 2020-21 season, Wucherer ranked fifth in all of NCAA DI volleyball with two triple doubles, which included an eye-popping 16 kill, 28 assist and 13 dig performance versus Cleveland State. Defensively, she averaged nearly 2.5 digs and 0.5 blocks per set from 2018-21.
Â
To go with her standout play on the court, Wucherer was just as successful in the classroom as she was named to the Horizon League All-Academic Team three times in 2019, 2020 and 2021. She was also a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-District 2 Team honoree in both 2020-21 and 2021-22. Wucherer achieved a 4.0 GPA as a double major in finance and sports business and event management. She also served on NKU's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for two years.
Â
After her time with NKU, Wucherer joined the Minnesota volleyball program for her graduate season. To go with playing for a year, Wucherer spent her final season with the team as a graduate manager, where she was responsible for helping the Minnesota coaching staff in a variety of capacities on a daily basis. She graduated with a master's degree in sports management following her time with the Gophers.
Â
Wucherer is no stranger to the coaching ranks with experience running the Keegan Cook Volleyball Camps, the Golden Girls All-Star Skills Camp, the Hugh McCutcheon Volleyball Camp, the College Coaches Skills Camp, the Northern Kentucky Volleyball Camps, both the Northern Lights CBC and Milwaukee String VBC camps and the All-American Volleyball Camps to go with time at both Brookfield Central and Sussex Hamilton High Schools.
