NKU extends winning streak to eight with road victory

SOMERS, Wis. - Kristina Eisenmenger tallied 13 kills as Northern Kentucky University posted a 25-14, 25-22, 27-25 victory against Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday night and extended its winning streak to eight matches.

Kim Nemcek added eight kills and hit .500 for NKU, which improved to 9-2 overall, 2-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. The Norse attacked at a .326 clip and upped their advantage in the all-time series with the Rangers to 27-2.

Eisenmenger, a senior right-side hitter from Notre Dame Academy, moved past Tristen Dye for eighth place on NKU's all-time list with 1,403 career kills. She attacked at a .385 clip for the match and converted a key attack in the third set with Wisconsin-Parkside holding a 24-23 lead.

Natalie Forbes collected 35 assists, five kills and hit .625 for the match. Kelsey Wesaw added seven kills for the Norse, while teammate Noelle Peterson finished with six kills.

Chelsea Clark led the defense with 11 digs and also served up two aces. NKU hit .423 in the opening set and rolled to a 25-14 win, and the Norse held off the Rangers (3-8, 0-3 GLVC) in the final two stanzas to notch the road victory.

NKU plays two-time defending GLVC Tournament champion Lewis at 4 p.m. Saturday in Romeoville, Ill. The Flyers are ranked 24th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.

NKU travels to Louisville, Ky., on Tuesday to meet Bellarmine before returning home to meet Saint Joseph's in Regents Hall next Friday at 7 p.m. The following afternoon, the Norse play host to Indianapolis at 3 p.m.
