Volleyball sweeps Kentucky Wesleyan

OWENSBORO, Ky. - Kristina Eisenmenger recorded nine kills and attacked at a .471 clip as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team posted a 25-23, 25-12, 25-8 win at Kentucky Wesleyan on Tuesday night.

Eisenmenger, a senior right-side hitter from Notre Dame Academy, now has 1,390 career kills. She also passed Jenny Fleissner (1,383 kills) for ninth place on the NKU all-time kills list. Eisenmenger needs six kills to move past Tristen Dye (1,395) into eighth place in Norse history.

Sarah Drennen added eight kills and eight digs for NKU, which won its seventh consecutive match and improved to 8-2. Kim Nemcek finished with seven kills and a .357 hitting percentage as the Norse began Great Lakes Valley Conference play with a road victory.

NKU is now 37-0 all-time against Kentucky Wesleyan. In addition, the Norse have not dropped a set to Kentucky Wesleyan since Oct. 23, 1993.

Natalie Forbes collected 27 assists, six digs and four kills. Megan Dooley served up five aces for the Norse, who finished with 10 winners as a team.

NKU travels north this weekend for two GLVC matches, beginning with an 8 p.m. contest at Wisconsin-Parkside on Friday. The Norse conclude the trip Saturday by meeting Lewis at Romeoville, Ill.

Lewis is ranked 24th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll.
