HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. - The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team resumes Great Lakes Valley Conference play with two matches this weekend, beginning with a Friday night contest at Saint Joseph's.
NKU concludes the road trip Saturday afternoon with a GLVC showdown at Indianapolis. The Norse are 16-9 overall, 6-2 in the GLVC. Saint Joseph's is 11-14 overall, 5-3 in the GLVC.
Indianapolis, which is ranked 11th nationally in the NCAA Division II poll, is 26-1 overall, 7-1 in the GLVC.
NORSE UPSET HILLSDALE:
Kim Nemcek recorded 21 kills and hit .421 as NKU pulled off a 27-25, 25-17, 20-25, 25-21 upset against No. 23 Hillsdale (Mich.) at the GLVC/Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Crossover last Saturday. The Norse posted a 1-2 record at the two-day regional crossover event.
CLARK HONORED: NKU junior libero
Chelsea Clark earned all-tournament honors for her play at the regional crossover. Clark collected 61 digs in three matches, including 29 against Wayne State (Mich.).
20-WIN STREAK: NKU needs four wins to wrap up its 17th consecutive 20-win season. The Norse have six regular-season matches remaining.
