HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University volleyball team plays host to Illinois-Springfield at 7 p.m. Thursday in Regents Hall.

NKU then concludes its home season Sunday by playing host to Quincy at noon. The Norse are 17-10 overall, 7-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Illinois-Springfield is 9-17 overall, 1-9 GLVC. Quincy is 6-18 overall, 3-7 GLVC.

NKU switched its normal Friday-Saturday GLVC weekend to Thursday and Sunday in order to accommodate the Kentucky High School Athletic Association's state volleyball tournament, which will be held Friday and Saturday in Regents Hall.

SENIOR NIGHT: NKU will recognize senior defensive specialist Megan Dooley prior to Thursday's match with Illinois-Springfield. Dooley, a graduate of St. Henry High School, is a four-year letterwinner for NKU and has helped the Norse earn two straight NCAA Division II Tournament berths.

20-WIN STREAK: NKU needs three wins to extend its streak of consecutive 20-win seasons to 17. The Norse have four regular-season matches remaining before heading to the GLVC Tournament, which begins Nov. 13.

700 CLUB: NKU junior middle hitter Kim Nemcek enters this week with 725 career kills with the Norse. Nemcek is averaging a GLVC-leading 3.93 kills per set this season and is hitting .322.

TARANTINO NO. 1: NKU freshman Kylee Tarantino is No. 1 in the GLVC in service aces at 0.48 per set. Tarantino, a graduate of Mount Notre Dame High School in Cincinnati, has served up 99 aces this season. As a team, NKU leads the GLVC with 204 total aces.
