ST. LOUIS – Sarah Eisnaugle recorded 17 kills and attacked at a .464 clip to lead the University of Missouri-St. Louis volleyball team to a four-set win against Northern Kentucky University on Saturday.
Weslie Gaff added 15 kills and hit .379 as Missouri-St. Louis won by scores of 25-17, 29-31, 25-23, 25-19 to clinch the No. 3 seed in the Great Lakes Valley Conference Tournament. The Tritons limited NKU to a .156 hitting percentage and attacked at a .292 clip to pull out the four-set victory.
Missouri-St. Louis improved to 21-10 overall and finished 11-3 in the GLVC. NKU dropped to 20-11 overall, 10-4 in the GLVC.
Kim Nemcek led NKU with 17 kills and hit .270, while
Sarah Drennen added 16 kills and a .278 hitting percentage.
Noelle Peterson chipped in 14 kills for the Norse, and
Kelly Morrissey served up four aces.
NKU will be the No. 4 seed in the GLVC Tournament and meet No. 5 seed Rockhurst (20-13 overall, 9-5 GLVC) at 6 p.m. this Friday. Lewis is the top seed and host for the GLVC Tournament, which will be played at Romeoville, Ill.
The winner of the GLVC Tournament will receive an automatic berth to the NCAA Division II Tournament. NKU defeated Rockhurst on the road earlier this season, taking a five-set decision against the Hawks in Kansas City, Mo.
