The NKU women's basketball team meets West Va. Wesleyan at 2 p.m. Tuesday.
HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team plays host to West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday at 2 p.m. All NKU faculty and staff will be admitted free to that special afternoon weekday game.
NKU is 5-3 after posting a 61-41 win against Saint Francis (Ind.) last Saturday. West Virginia Wesleyan is currently 4-3 after defeating Shippensburg (Pa.), 64-61, on Saturday.
NKU is 2-0 all-time against West Virginia Wesleyan. The Norse posted a 58-37 win over the Lady Bobcats last season in Buckhannon, W.Va.
CAREER GAME:
Whitney Levering scored a career-high 16 points during NKU's win against Saint Francis (Ind.). Levering, a 6-foot-1 sophomore from Fredericktown, Ohio, also grabbed five rebounds and was 7-for-11 from the field.
MOGAN ON A ROLL: NKU sophomore guard
Casse Mogan has scored in double figures in all eight games this season and averages 14.8 points per contest. She is also 43-for-50 (86 percent) from the free-throw line and leads the team in rebounding at 7.1 rpg.
RAYBURN'S RETURN: NKU senior forward
Brandi Rayburn, who missed the first two games while recovering from an injury, leads NKU in scoring at 15 points per game. She has also made 91.3 percent of her free throws.
BOWLING IS BACK: NKU sophomore forward
Sadie Bowling, who missed five games due to a foot injury, made her return last week and scored 12 points in the win against Saint Francis. Bowling averages 11.7 points per game.
PERFECT AT HOME: NKU is 5-0 at home this season. The Norse have lost all three of their games on the road.
LANTRY'S ASSISTS: NKU senior
Rachel Lantry leads the team with 30 assists. She also tops the Norse with eight blocked shots and is second with 10 steals.
NEXT UP: NKU returns to action after the Christmas break Dec. 30 with a road game at Ashland. The Norse then resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play Jan. 2 with a home contest against Lewis at 1 p.m.
Quincy visits The Bank of Kentucky Center on Jan. 4 for a GLVC showdown against NKU. The Norse are 0-2 in the GLVC.
