After Dustin Maguire made a runner in the lane to give NKU a 54-53 lead with 6.1 seconds remaining, Adams drove the length of the court and was fouled while attempting a layup with 1.5 seconds left. Adams made both free throws, and Dennis Gagai's 65-foot desperation heave was off target at the buzzer.

Indianapolis snapped a nine-game losing streak in the series against NKU with the victory. The Greyhounds had not beaten NKU since Feb. 12, 2005.

Adams scored a career-high 28 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Indianapolis, which is 3-2 overall, 1-0 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Chris Knight led NKU (4-3, 0-1 GLVC) with 10 points, while David Palmer added six points for the Norse.

NKU owned an 11-point lead (28-17) with 3:31 left in the first half, but Indianapolis stormed from behind with a 14-0 run to take a 31-28 edge at the break. Adams tallied 18 points in the first half to spark the Greyhound rally.

Indianapolis scored the first five points of the second half to take a 36-28 lead on Dijon Knight's 3-pointer with 16:39 remaining. Palmer stopped the Greyhounds' 19-0 spurt with a basket to cut the Indianapolis lead to 36-30.

A 3-pointer by Nate Blank with 13:02 left gave Indianapolis its largest lead at 41-30. Two consecutive jumpers by NKU's Knight and a 3-pointer by Tony Rack made it a 41-37 game with 10:19 remaining, but Adams countered by burying a jumper to extend the Indianapolis lead to 43-37.

With 2:03 remaining, Palmer made two free throws to bring NKU to within two points at 49-47. After an Indianapolis turnover, Knight knotted the score at 49-all by banking in a 16-foot jumper from out front with 1:44 left on the clock.

Adams struck yet again by hitting a driving layup to give Indianapolis a 51-49 lead with 1:08 remaining. After an NKU timeout, Palmer launched a 3-pointer from beyond the top of the key that found nothing but the bottom of the net to give the Norse a 52-51 advantage.

Adams wasted no time in regaining the lead for Indianapolis by knocking down a jumper with 27.7 seconds left, setting the stage for Maguire's basket that gave NKU its short-lived advantage.

NKU shot 37.3 percent from the field, while Indianapolis made 38.8 percent of its attempts from the field. The Greyhounds won the rebounding battle, 37-32, and won despite committing 18 turnovers.

NKU faces unbeaten Southern Indiana (5-0) on Saturday in Evansville, Ind. The Screaming Eagles knocked off GLVC East Division favorite Bellarmine, 75-62, on Thursday night in Evansville, Ind.
