HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. –
Kim Nemcek recorded 12 kills, four blocks and a .556 hitting percentage as the Northern Kentucky University volleyball team swept past Urbana, 25-16, 26-24, 25-16, in a non-conference match Wednesday night in Regents Hall.
Sarah Drennen added 10 kills and attacked at a .318 clip for NKU, which improved to 11-5. The Norse hit .253 for the match and rolled to their third consecutive victory.

Chelsea Clark each served up three aces for the Norse, who are 2-0 all-time against Urbana. Clark led the NKU defense with nine digs, while Nemcek and Tarantino each finished with seven digs.
Urbana rallied from an 18-13 deficit in the second set and tied the stanza at 24-all, but NKU responded with a kill by Drennen to take a 25-24 lead. An attack error by Urbana's Paula Lindsay then gave NKU a 26-24 victory.
Heather Powers recorded seven kills and hit .600 for Urbana, which fell to 8-9. The Blue Knights hit .071 for the match.
NKU resumes Great Lakes Valley Conference action Friday with a home match against Maryville (Mo.) at 7 p.m. Maryville is in its first season as a member of the GLVC.
NKU is 2-0 in the GLVC. Maryville owns a 1-8 overall mark, and the Saints are 0-2 in the GLVC.
