Ellen Holton and
Sadie Bowling both scored 17 points Saturday night to lead the Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team to a 75-55 win against Lake Erie College in the United Electric/Metro Medical Solutions Tip-Off Classic.
Kendra Caldwell added 14 points and grabbed 13 rebounds for NKU (2-2), which made 48.3 percent of its shots from the field.
Casse Mogan finished with 12 points for the Norse, who limited Lake Erie to 38.5 percent shooting from the field.
NKU led by as many as 13 points in the first half and owned a 36-30 edge at the break. The Norse sealed the win by shooting 57.1 percent from the field in the second half. Bowling netted 12 points in the second half to spark NKU.
Holton, who was 8-for-11 from the field, was named to the all-tournament team.
NKU head coach Nancy Winstel now has 638 career victories, including 599 wins on the Norse sideline.
NKU plays host to Georgetown (Ky.) Tuesday at 7 p.m.
