HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Northern Kentucky University men's basketball team plays host to Glenville State in a special Wednesday afternoon game at 1 p.m.

NKU is 7-2 going into Wednesday, while Glenville State owns a 2-6 record. Glenville State is a member of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.

NKU and Glenville State have never met in men's basketball.

TOP PERFORMER: NKU senior guard Malcolm Eleby leads the team in scoring (15.1 points per game), assists (4.3 per game) and rebounds (5.9 per game). Eleby is in his first season with the Norse after transferring from St. Bonaventure.

Eleby nearly collected a triple-double against UC-Clermont during a 103-58 win on Dec. 19, finishing with 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. Craig Conley owns the only triple-double in Norse men's basketball history, having accomplished the feat against Lewis on Feb. 3, 2001, with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 11 assists.

AT HOME: NKU is 7-1 at home this season, while Glenville State is 1-2 on the road.

OFFENSIVE ROLL: During its last four games, NKU has averaged 95.8 points per contest. The Norse have scored more than 100 points twice during that stretch. Glenville State is surrendering an average of 88.5 points per game entering Wednesday's contest.

NEARING 700: NKU has a total of 675 all-time victories entering Wednesday.

UC-CLERMONT RECAP: NKU closed out the pre-Christmas portion of its schedule Dec. 19 with a 103-58 victory against UC-Clermont in The Bank of Kentucky Center.

Six players scored in double figures for NKU. The Norse buried 15 shots from 3-point range – 11 in the first half - and remained unbeaten (8-0) in the all-time series against UC-Clermont.

Corey Sorrell scored 14 points off the bench for NKU. Sorrell also contributed three rebounds, two assists and two steals in 19 minutes of action. Malcolm Eleby added 13 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists for NKU. As a team, the Norse dished out a season-high 28 assists.

Bobby Shannon and Chris Knight each scored 12, while Tony Rack (11 points) and Erik Stenger (10 points) also reached double figures for the Norse. NKU shot 56.7 percent from the field and held UC-Clermont (5-6) to just 35.3 percent shooting.

Josh Tabb dished out nine assists for NKU, while Jon Van Hoose added nine points. All 12 NKU players dented the scoring column.

GLVC PLAY RESUMES: Both NKU basketball teams resume Great Lakes Valley Conference play Sunday with road games at Quincy. The NKU men are 1-1 in GLVC play entering that road trip. The NKU women will enter the Quincy contest with an 8-2 overall record and a seven-game winning streak. The Norse are 2-0 in the GLVC.
