SOMERS, Wis. – The last two visits to DeSimone Gymnasium have resulted in nightmarish offensive efforts by the Northern Kentucky University women's basketball team.

NKU, which was held to a program-low 36 points last February by Wisconsin-Parkside during a 50-36 loss in DeSimone Gymnasium, duplicated that offensive output Saturday and dropped a 44-36 decision to the Rangers. The Norse shot just 23.9 percent from the field and watched their four-game winning streak halted.

Amy Selk scored 12 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for Wisconsin-Parkside, which improved to 13-3 overall, 7-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference. Jadee Rooney added 11 points for the Rangers, who dominated the inside and finished with a 44-32 rebounding advantage.

Casse Mogan led NKU (12-4 overall, 6-2 GLVC) with 14 points. The Norse did not make a 3-point shot (0-for-6) and were 14-for-23 from the free-throw line.

Wisconsin-Parkside led by as many as 11 points in the second half. NKU cut the Ranger advantage to 38-34 on a pair of free throws by Jaimie Hamlet with 3:12 left, but the Norse scored just two points the remainder of the game.

NKU still owns a 25-8 lead in the all-time series against Wisconsin-Parkside, but the Norse are just 2-7 in their last nine trips to DeSimone Gymnasium.

NKU continues its three-game road trip Thursday night by meeting Bellarmine at 5:45 p.m. The Norse finish the trip Saturday with a game at Kentucky Wesleyan.
